i cut my thumb, just beside the nail, when i sliced an orange this morning - it's a clean vertical incision, about 0.9cm long, but pretty deep, because it bled continuously.
the blood was bright red, with a tinge of vermilion.

applied a rubber band tourniquet.
since the weather is cold, my hands are numb, so with the rubber band, i can't sense if it's too tight for my thumb.
even did some hand-laundrying, with a rubber glove to protect the thumb and band-aid.

went back to my room, took off the glove and rubber band for a while.
before i knew it, blood soaked through the band-aid and was getting everywhere.
yikes.
now the tourniquet is safely back on my thumb.
