3 june 2013, 11.20 - choc ripple

spent sunday and most of today struggling with the assignment 3 for the Rhino modelling class.

the problem is the rendering. the in-built renderer in rhino is flamingo, which sucks.
the renderer they encouraged us to use is maxwell, which is also very problematic.
tutor G brought in tutor D to help us in class today.
both of them are brawny and relatively good-looking. tutor D has a very inflective voice as well, so he sounds cute too.
they seem to giggle and gossip when they talk to each other, which is quite funny.
tutor D is much more familiar with software than tutor G, who is practically hopeless, so he saved a lot of us.
i spent 4 hours fiddling with maxwell and all i got were some dark, shadowless, grainy images.
so i gave up at about 7.30pm and uploaded the assignment onto blackboard, ugly rendered images and all.

anyway, i want to sing the praises for this chocolate biscuit by Arnott's.
no, not tim-tams.
choc ripple.
i think it's the best cocoa biscuit ever. it's plain and dry, with a rough crumb, but there seems to be a wet chocolate bit in the centre... or is it just an illusion...

apparently, they are mainly used for making these cakes, formed by the biscuits absorbing the cream around them. :9
this Sydney blogger has gorgeous pictures of his choc ripple cake. i really like his photos.
this recipe has a very nice photo of the cake too.
