19 mar 2014 - meeting

had my meeting with the supervisor and i showed him the videos i took, where i climbed trees, went swimming, and other stuff.
he shot down my idea to make conceptual instruction-based art.
he always likes things i don't notice or find embarrassing.
so he saw the videos of the swimming and liked it when you can see people treading water in the shot.
and he liked the video which i was embarrassed to show, but was relevant, because it showed what the hand sees when i dress myself.
i know it sounds weird but yeah. he's a Greek who did his undergrad and PhD in Sorbonne. he knows his stuff, so i have to take his advice.
it's just that i didn't realise how difficult it will be to plan and execute my practical project until he told me.
it's no wonder this final semester only has 2 units, one for academic writing and one for practical project development i.e. these supervisor meetings.

so i decided that i better quit the sushi factory job but when i tried to tell the boss, he just said that i can reduce my work hours. so now i will just work there once a week.

then i was stoning at the Curtin bus station when the guy beside said in Mandarin, "are you Chinese?"
i'm like, no... he was probably 30, with Cyprus-guy features, wore a white polo tucked into his khakis. there were a lot of silence, then i got up to go to the library when he said, "can i get you some tea?" except that i didn't understand his mysterious accent. but anyway he seemed decent and cultured so we had coffee at the library.
he's an Aussie engineer from the Middle East, loves tea and is interested in learning Mandarin and Japanese. we talked about my project, Chinese culture and he was as decent and cultured as he seemed, so that was nice.

then i worked on my project for a bit at the library and went home and couldn't sleep until 2am because of the caffeine.

Don't understand why you have to climb trees to take video. Can be dangerous, doing multi task climbing tree.
