Paris - day 4, 12 june 2012 - Parc Asterix

 backlog for 2012 trip - day 4.

fun times at Parc Asterix - the Asterix theme park! better than Disneyland, i dare say!
we had to take the train to a station where we could get on the special bus to take us to the theme park. cousin and i pretended to be journalists interviewing each other during the bus journey.

 excitement!
the theme park is organized into 6 different areas recognizable by the architecture and decor. this is the first village we passed through and in the distance is Asterix sitting on a mountain.
this is a cute sign for "cool drinks".
Roman guards! we have crossed into the Roman Empire.
that's a Colosseum. lots of kids on school excursions.

Le Grand Splatch - water ride from the mountain Asterix was sitting on! love the humor of speech bubbles.
on a little(?) roller coaster, taking a photo of the view on the way up.
it was cloudy day but luckily it didn't rain much until evening.
the new attraction in the new Egypt world - Oziris - inverse coaster. very cool.
it wasn't open when we first saw it... luckily it opened later that day!
this was my favorite ride - L'Oxygenarium! it's round-boat water slide.
vaguely steam-pop-punk design - the main building featured a huge nose and moustache centerpiece -  awesome!
this is Les Chaises Volantes. kinda of La Belle Epoque style, which was lovely. the spin was pretty crazy.
i think this is the Haussmann Paris section - in a dark building, we can see the townhouses scaled down with fancy lighting.
haha - this is modeled after the Middle Ages and there is a baby's outfit hanging between the buildings.
this coaster was pretty sweet too - Goudurix. there are 7 loops in this baby!
my plastic earring broke because of this ride though. lol
another brilliant bit of humor - when you walk under the giant status of Zeus, you can see his floral underpants!
this was for the wooden coaster - Tonnerre de Zeus. unfortunately the queue was very long and we didn't have enough time because we wanted to check if the inverted coaster was open.
 that's Obelix in a merry-go-round!
oh yeah - we got on the Ozisis. pretty crazy stuff :D
the design of the pathway to the queue was filled with funny hieroglyphs and other Egyptian looking things.
cousin was sad that he wasn't tall enough to take this ride.
 shopping for souvenirs.
haha - menhir (rocks) for urgent delivery.
 cute merchandise :)

and because we bought the 1-day transport pass, uncle and I went out at night to make full use of the pass, and take photos of the lighted Eiffel and that bridge from Inception - Pont de Bir-Hakeim.
metro station: Concorde. that monument is the Obelisque.
metro station: Ecole Militaire. the lighted Eiffel on a rainy night through Mur de la Paix (Wall for Peace).
metro station: Bir-Hakeim. nice bridge. very nice.
we got a little lost trying to find it and i dropped my umbrella in pigeon poop but it was all good.
sparkly Eiffel.

    Ahhh... nice memories...
Got flashed by Zeus (that was really funny!), and the Bir-Hakeim station...
    Time does fly...
