2 jul 2013, 9.29pm - cycling along the river

went cycling with MF and K, from guild house to King's Park.
had several near-accidents, but survived in one piece.
MF's bike fell in the river though. that was pretty exciting.

first rest stop - Neil McDougall Park. it has a neat playground.
crossed Kwinana Freeway to get to the cycling track along Canning River.
submerged jetty. Canning Bridge and Applecross in the background.
the sandy river bank. we saw black swans on Swan River. how apt.
cycled up river some more. a long jetty and King's Park in the distance.

then we crossed Swan River and got to the foot of King's Park.
we were on the wrong side of Mounts Bay Road - one side is a wonderful cycle track/footpath along the Matilda Bay, the other side along the foot of King's Park has no footpath at all - and had to u-turn to the point where we could cross the road.
some guy on a bus yelled at us just to be annoying. thanks. /rolls eyes
we made it on the cycle track. this is a jetty on Matilda Bay with the city and the bridge crossing Mill Point in the distance.
we were going to cycle toward UWA when something unexpected happened.
i took this photo moments before MF's bicycle toppled into the river.
he parked it at the river's edge and i witnessed it fall in.
here it in the river. lol.
luckily it was shallow at low tide.
MF had to go in and hoist it up so we can pull it on shore.
taking pictures of the wet bicycle.
this is where this statue commemorating Crawley Baths was.
MF said that seeing the bike fall in must have been entertaining for the statue.
sunset.
we rode to the Bell Tower at Barrack Street.
at the ferry point, waiting for 6.30pm so we can eat at the Indian restaurant.
 the city at night.
rice, potato, cabbage, pancake, bean curry, curd curry, spicy soup.
orange juice and sweet noodle dessert not pictured.

the Indian restaurant serves vegetarian food, buffet style. the payment is by donation. we have a branch in Singapore too!
given it's very scenic and accessible location, i didn't expect the charity organization to have its restaurant here. it's quite popular with all nationalities and the food was good :)
