spent about 4 hours online researching and agonizing over a purchase for my research project...
the research question goes like this - How does the photographer's gaze change when the hand becomes the guiding eye for the camera?
i asked the lecturer for advice about it, and one of the things he wanted me to do was to quickly buy the equipment so i can start producing the wrist-mounted camera that i need.
so, i ended up spending 4 hours comparing different websites for products.
i needed a light-weight camera that can be mounted on the wrist, and that has a remote shutter release function.
funnily, DSLR and film camera have remote shutter release functions, but not "point and shoot" ones.
otherwise i could buy any old compact camera...
anyway, i weighed the cost-benefits of waiting weeks for the purchase, and the risk of getting a faulty product if i buy from a "grey market" seller vs spending $50+ more to buy it from a reputable online store.
then i finally bought it - $382 for the camera and remote. hope i can pick it up tomorrow morning.
but, that's not the main big purchase i made this week.
i bought air tickets to Stockholm to visit my friend next July...
they cost $1155...
i think mom and dad will be shocked when they read this. >.<
