5 jul 2013, 11.28pm - facebook messenger

drove a friend's car to pick people up from the airport.
the Perth drivers were forgiving today - no one honked when i cut into their lanes.

why do cars suddenly emerge from the blind spot and whizz by just as i prepare to change lanes?
late lunch at Makan Makan cafe at Victoria Park.
the airy high-ceilings contribute to the nice atmosphere.
this teh tarik was $3.50. a jumbo-sized cup! but the tea was quite diluted. /sad

then i went to the city to meet a friend, but i was very early for the appointment, so i wandered around by myself.
i went into this shop.
they had sacks of spices, nuts, and other stuff.
chocolate marshmallow sauce. :9
Ben & Jerry only came into Perth a few months ago. the ice cream van is parked at James Street.
 would love to work here.
the Art Gallery - they had an evening event today.
the library closed at 5.30pm and the Art Gallery had this special event, so i sat outside and people-watched.
after 20 minutes, i saw some suspicious people around so i went into the train station to wait.
a Hare Krishna procession passed through the station singing and dancing.

was supposed to meet R at 6.30pm. i had sent her a facebook message at 6.15pm but didn't receive any messages from her. waited until 6.50pm and was prepared to give up and go home.
luckily i brought the notebook where i wrote down her number - called her and it turned out that she was waiting at the underground station instead.
R had sent me facebook messages at 6.34pm, but i didn't receive her messages until a few hours later and my message wasn't sent out to her at all. /lame
obviously facebook messaging never works when you need it.
we ate at Jus Burger. self-proclaimed the "best burgers in Western Australia".
R said she liked Grill in Westfield Carousel a lot more.
 i ordered a kangaroo burger ($13.50).
a friend said it's a must-try when in Australia, and i haven't had any before, so i decided to give it a go.
the kangaroo meat patty was quite rare and it was very lean. the first bite tasted/smelt like a cross between lamb and beef. i guess that's why they say it's gamey.
the rawness of the meat overpowered the topping ("horseradish slaw and goan cuisine green chilli jam"). and my stomach hurt a bit after eating it, so it wasn't a good experience.

i liked the Turkish bun though. i love bread.
maybe it's time to seriously become vegetarian. haha.
