Copenhagen - Canal Tour

Canal Tours Copenhagen

tell you what, the canal tour in Copenhagen was pretty damn awesome!

we wanted to go for the earliest tour, which was at 10 am or so.
so we got to Gammel Strand, a nice central location, and found the the Canal Tours Copenhagen booth.
once again, friendly staff!

and friendly rowers who smiled and waved at us.

our boat was open top, 4 seats on each side, if i remember correctly.
the guide was a nice young lady who spoke English and Danish and Spanish!
but it was mostly in English (they have different timings for different languages).
the weather was lovely too, so it made the tour very enjoyable.
here's the map of the route.

this is the Borsen, built in the 1600s and owned by the Chamber of Commerce.
you can't see the awesomely twisty spire in this photo.

random old houses and a bit of colorful graffiti on the side.
btw, there was no good reason for me to take a photo of this guy.

swanky apartments in a hangar shape so that boats can park at the steps of the interior of the building.
that's a view of Freetown Christiania, where residents have occupied a military area and created a commune.

all those people are looking at the most famous girl in Copenhagen.
can you see her?
she's sitting on a rock that's perched on another rock.

this was the best part out of a lot of very good parts.
sailing through Christianshavns Kanal, which is filled with pretty historical houses and nice boats.
the water was clear and clean too!

wooooo the driver was very good at navigating through the narrow-as-heck bridge spaces!
