Journal no. 3

after 2 weeks of not working at the fish shop and last week's repeated advice from auntie P, i plucked up the courage to tell the lady boss that i wanted to quit after this month. so i went in ten minutes early and tried to talk to her.

me: auntie, i want to tell you something, do you have the time...
auntie: it's doesn't matter, we are closing after today...
me: *whut - the authorities have shut them down? lol* closing?
auntie: after tomorrow. *proceeds set up stuff*

obviously the auntie doesn't care much about what i want to say, so i have to find another time to try again.
what a coincidence. i wanted to quit and it turns out the shop will be closed for renovation for 2 weeks from 4 nov.
a colleague said that the renovations may go on for 3 weeks. today would be her last day too, but she told auntie earlier. so i was like, might as well make today my last day. it's like i served 2 weeks notice, since it's not my fault they are going on renovation.

when it was near lunch time, i talked to her again.

me: auntie, i will be going on holiday in dec. do you want me to come back for the last week of nov...
auntie: you are finishing up (your school)?
me: yes...? so today will be my last day?
auntie: today will be your last day.

 finally it was the end of the day. i didn't keep track of time but luckily my colleague told me it was 7 minutes past 6. i had to catch the 6.12 pm bus. i went to tell the uncle boss, because he deals out the pay from the week before at the end of saturday's shift.

me: uncle, i have to catch the bus and today is my last day.
uncle: i told you when you first got this job. this is not a job that you can just quit whenever you like. you have to give notice. and you only told auntie. i give the pay. but you have to give me notice. if you tell me, i will say don't come to work. just collect your pay. you only work 1 day a week so okay. and you have to come back in 2 weeks for today's pay. same like everybody else. come back in 2 weeks.
me: *takes the pay from previous work day* okay thank you.

well, shit. have to go back again to get paid.
and thanks to his lecture, i missed the bus by the time i got out.
