it was awesome to be able to sleep for 12 hours - i'm starting to become friends with the bed here.
the blanket (thx, Angels) can keep me warm when it's 16 degrees outside.
here are some pictures from my first day of school yesterday.
the first class (seminar) was held by the very engaging, cool and pregnant Ms H.
there are 24 people registered for it and about 1/3 are doing 3D stuff (like me!) this semester.
i sat beside a Malaysian fashion designer who lived her all her life. she wants advance her career by working for Burberry but needs to get a masters degree to get there.
one should come out of this class being able to think and write. hah. /brain-melt
is it me or do all humanities building (here and NUS) have the same look?
this is the corridor through which we get to the seminar.
went home and made this - packaged pasta is not tasty.
the carrot was okay.
flat-mate was making great big fluffy pancakes and he puts marmite on them. i need some marmite in my life.
on the way back to uni and met Mr Masters. his roving eyes gives me the heebi-bejeebies. he asked if i were scared of him and i replied "no!" too quickly.
anyway, will have to avoid going back to school at this time (1.40pm).
the next class was the 3D modeling lab using Rhino software, which is supposedly in between AutoCad and SolidWorks.
the tutor (Mr G) is a 30-ish year old light-skinned-OJ-Simpson (sorry, don't know many football players to make comparisons) with a rumbling voice like distant thunder. i have to stare at his face if i want to understand what he's saying.
he went around to have a 1-on-1 talk with us and i blushed when he talked to me, hee.
the tutor for the other class also sat in. he's also muscle-y (his face+hair reminds me of an athlete found on ancient Grecian urns) and wore a tight shirt. normal voice.
the following will be some pictures of the campus taken at 5pm.
the triangle building is a good landmark.
the grass is yellow.
the blue of the sky through the floating glass corridor.
it's a golf course!
no, it's what i pass by everyday on-route to uni.
the morning show on 99.3 FM is nice :)
and the news about sinkholes suddenly appearing and swallowing people up alive in California.. terrible.
