i 'm almost half-way through the e-book called "How Designers Think" by Bryan Lawson... just reading about it is hard. can't imagine how hard thinking and doing it will be. zzz.
today was a practical workshop where one is supposed to bring one's designs to life.
it doesn't seem to have a taught syllabus...
for the 3 hours, my small group was guided on the various machinery in the workshop by an absent-minded tutor/technician - imagine an slightly senile Gandalf without beard or hat. he's very soft-spoken and likes to leave us hanging. but lecturer said he's brilliant, and i probably can believe that is true.
he showed us how to operate the guillotine, metal bender, drill, cutter and buffer, and made us try them ourselves.
most of the kids in the class were 2nd year jewellery or product design majors.
i only did a bit of workshop in secondary school, so this is all new to me. crazy
lol i made a portion of the PAP symbol in acrylic.
found this at the back of the art building.
work in progress.
more food trucks. this one is snacks and coffee.
this one is pizza. didn't try any.
pizza is a good start though. $6 for a small!
then i went to check out the career fair at the stadium.
most of the companies were based in oil, gas, mining, and engineering. nothing much for humanities, but what's new.
meals-wise, i've been feasting on this loaf of bread i got from Coles. had it for a midnight snack, lunch, dinner and i still have 1/4 of it left.
