2 march 2013, 12.08am - toga party

slept quite well last night - i think reading a book before bed helps.

Mr PhD was standing below my building in the morning. he was very civil and introduced me to the flat-mate. then i hitched a ride with the flat-mate to the shops to sort out my mobile recharge issue. the flat-mate seemed like an "angry young man" - he didn't like the rich Saudi who sold him the car, or the birds on campus.

then i went to Student Central to ask about my school fees. there was another serious problem with my admin records - again.
omg, this @#$& uni! /sigh.

at the library, i borrowed a book on Toulouse-Lautrec.
the upside-down picture above is from Jealousy in the seraglio by Fernand Cormon, T-L's teacher.
i'm fascinated by how Cormon painted the face of the brunette, who is delighting in the murder of the blonde.

look, it's butter-fried rice with salmon. also not bad.
at the last step, add the salt to taste and everything will be alright.
and i always have a fruit (current batch: nectarines) once a day - so healthy, lol.

social butterfly flat-mate confirmed that the toga party on campus was happening, so we went to check it out at 7+pm, decked out in various colored large pieces of cloth.
but most people from the flats purposely bought white sheets from K-mart and had wreaths, so they looked really good.
the security was very strict about everyone's age id and student id, which was also good.
i stuck to social butterfly as she looked for friends and was able to give her most of my beer (A$9 for a big cup).
there was alcohol, music, and all these young people ... they did young-people-stuff : drink, hook up, dance, throw stuff, spill beer, make-out. i don't need to tell you, right?
here is social butterfly's friend, who is very pretty and for some reason, remembers my name very well. many guys were interested in her. hope she left the party okay.

and here is a guy taking a video of the crowd - we had to stand still and then do the Harlem Shake. jeez.

the music was mostly terrible throughout (Mmm-bop, Macarena, BSB), but had to hang around because no one wanted to leave. :(((
along the way, i lost social butterfly, so i stuck to an Indian guy i just met, who is currently doing his PhD (Mr PhD is actually doing his Masters, so now his name will be changed to Mr Masters from now on).

finally, at 11pm, i left the place with the PhD guy (as in, exited and walked back home).
he asked me if i wanted to go up to his building to "sit and rest".
lol - why would i want to sit at your flat when i can just go home?
i quickly said "good night, see you around" and that was the end of that.

the guild person had said that everyone should go to a toga party at least once. i'm glad i went, so now i know that i will not want to go again.

At least you know what you'll not be missing
    :)

Is this a ploy by K-mart to boost their bed linen sales for the year?
