Stockholm - day 2 - Gamla Stan again

after Nasbypark, we went to Gamla Stan again for a more thorough meander through its streets.

Branda Tomten is the little triangular sitting area shaded by a huge tree, near the center of the island. it was lovely to sit there and admire these historical buildings, dating from late 1600s. but they are well-cared for and add a lot of charm, thus making Gamla Stan so attractive.

at the edge of Gamla Stan, near the subway station, you can rest at the pier.
the buildings on the hill (the Mariatorget area) looked gorgeous.
a couple of girls were actually lounging there in their bikinis, and there were the ubiquitous folks who were picking recyclables out of the bin.

the quiet back alleys of Gamla Stan are exceedingly picturesque. i love the warm orangey-yellow color palette.

the main shopping and dining areas are all right, but move to on to find hidden treasures.
