Tim Gunn's fashion advice

you look good, you feel good, right?

a TV program recommended these basics for the face/head area:

- tinted moisturizer SPF 30
- mascara
- lip/cheek stain
- hair finishing spray

seems easy enough. but i am lazy.

and for the body area, Tim Gunn says these 3 things must be in harmony with each other:

  • Silhouette
  • Proportion
  • And FIT.
finding tops that fit is a problem for me. and having the right proportion of top vs bottom.

he also recommends these items in a woman's wardrobe in NYC:
  • A basic black dress
  • A blazer
  • A day dress, preferably wrap
  • A pair of dress pants
  • A classic white shirt
  • A pair of dark wash jeans
  • A cashmere sweater
  • A trenchcoat (you can wear it to the opera, you can wear it to the grocery store)
  • A stiletto, a pump, and a ballet flat
alarmingly, i don't have a basic black dress, amongst other things. it will be good to invest in one.

One more thing to add to that list: Confidence.
Ever notice how some people can turn up in the most outlandish togs and get away with it? It's this little ingredient that makes the world of difference.
Not sure if you'd find it in a bottle or off the rack, but it's sure an essential accessory !
