2 aug 2013 - sweeping up

had an induction session for the uni job in the morning - i was surprised to see that about 50 other students were hired for this position, because the person-in-charge of hiring us gave me personalised attention, so i thought not many people signed up for the job.
and it was my first time seeing so many students in office clothing. haha
the induction including some hands on stuff with lecture theater microphone systems, and i received my shift roster.

after that, i headed to the cafe and did about 4 hours there. learnt how to do new stuff like emptying the bins, preparing chicken salad, milkshakes, soups, washing lettuce, wrapping banana bread, and the shop closing routine, which is sweeping, putting up chairs, mopping, and washing up.

and from talking to the owners, learnt that the boss - BC - is 6 months younger than me. lol that was unexpected and slightly depressing.
also learnt that the lady boss - BT -loves baking. she can make macaroons. oooo
BC makes the coffee and is very easy to talk to so i always see him having long conversations with customers. both of them are kind and did a lot of cleaning up because i was still very slow.

i was beat... but the good thing with closing shop is that the owners pack up the leftover food and give them to the staff. inside were 3 fat sandwiches, yogurt+muesli, banana bread, and a pie.
near the cafe is this garden area.
i sat there and ate half a sandwich (chicken avocado) and a pie (broccoli cream).
