21 to 30 apr - meeting with friends, eyelash extensions

In the lead up to my wedding and also because it was my birthday, I met up with some friends:
Karaoke with my lovely colleagues (Cash Studios @ Prinsep St - there was the incident with the system breakdown for over 10 min)

An epic hotpot lunch in the office - it passed into legend with the other colleagues. My colleague bought her mini hotpot from home and organised this!

Two awesome friends who agreed to help at my wedding (brunch at Curious Palette @ Prinsep Street - I liked the place very much but the pulled pork was horribly dry)

My ex-colleagues met Daven again - we had Teochew porridge, then coffee and snacks at the popular Lola cafe @ Kovan.

Random: I like the packaging of Tong Heng, the famous old Chinese pastry shop at Chinatown. My grandma said it was there since she was young!

Daven's wedding brothers at Kok Sen - loads of food and we finished every bit of it :9

Random: a nice Root Beer can design. The drink itself was too syrupy and sweet though.

A thoughtful gift from my colleagues for my marriage.

Random: The results of a simple makeup trial. I had decent eyebrows so she didn't need to do much. My brows are a mess now though.

The results of a very affordable lash by lash extension at Beauty Lady @ Tanjong Pagar. It was about $40 but the lashes are very thick and stiff.
They weren't happy when I feedbacked about the uneven lengths as they didn't stick the lashes in the correct length order on my left eye. My eyelash extensions turned out quite different but they insisted it was because I wasn't used to it and blamed it on my eyelashes being uneven.
I must say the glue was good and the extensions still looked ok 2 weeks later - up to my wedding.

birthday dinner at Valentino

I got married on my birthday but it was the registration, not the Chinese ceremony.

And I requested for a treat at Valentino, the well-known Italian restaurant at Turf City.

I heard that Valentino was very reliable and authentic, according to friends with means and good taste.
And the loads of important people who love to eat there impressed me too (ministers and G-Dragon).

Showing off his ring

Feeling posh

The little serving of bread was fresh.
The squid ink pasta had huge chunks of crab. But the pasta was so-so - not much squid ink flavour.

He liked his pasta - duck ragu - very much.

And he arranged for a surprised birthday message on my pistachio panna cotta.
The staff even sung me a birthday song - a standard part of birthday celebrations there!

The service was very very attentive so that's a good point.
But food-wise, it's a little too much to pay. Overall, I am glad I tried it but won't be thinking of going back again.

Solemnisation on 20 Apr 2018

Some photos from our no-frills solemnisation at the Registry of Marriage!

I wore the cheongsam my grandma got for me from Golden Scissors.
None of the other ladies getting married wore a cheongsam.
They wore fancy flowy gowns, mine was one the most simple outfits ^^
 That's my work bag lol
Everyone took leave to do this on a Friday morning.
Feeling tense because we almost missed our time slot
Trying to understand what the officiator said
 Exchanging rings
 Have to repeat the vow
 Sealed with a kiss
 Signing our lives away lol
Thanks ROM - the ceremony was over in 5 minutes
Photos outdoors with the ROM props
 Indoors
That's our certificate - useful for buying HDB, etc

Then we headed for tea at the National Museum - Food for Thought...
 Showing off his hongbaos
 Lol at my makeup
I look weird because... emotional haha
I cried at the ceremony too.
With my grandma and his parents
 With my brother as well

After the museum, we had lunch at Kok Sen
