i got a call on Tues from the Curtin career center - it was a phone interview screening.
during the short interview, i was petting Frodo (the dog) absent-mindedly while saying how i'm not very out-going but that i've learnt a lot about talking to random people in a friendly and polite way.
the lady said that there were many applicants but she would pass my answers to the management.

so i'm feeling quite happy because i received an email today saying that i was successful for this one day job - doing field survey work on a Sunday at a Gay Pride event.
it's like they appreciate how i'm trying to be less shy.
